Potka: Janata darbar was organized at Potka block office on Tuesday by the East Singhbhum district administration. A large number of people turned up on the occasion.
As many as 45 beneficiaries were given approved pension forms. Potka MLA Menka Sardar and Additional Deputy Commissioner Sourabh Kumar Sinha were present on the occasion along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA said the Central and state governments were running several welfare schemes for the benefit of the citizens. The beneficiaries should not lag behind due to want of knowledge, she said.
As many as 33 application forms were accepted for pension. Applications for various other schemes were also taken by the officials. The residents of several villages demanded repair of hand-pumps lying defunct for a long time.
The officials further assured to hold a health camp in Durku for the benefit of the villagers.
Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, seven applications were taken by the block officials.
Among others present on the occasion included Prakhand Pramukh Sukurmani Tudu, BDO PC Das, CO Dwarika Baitha, former Zila Parishad Karunamaya Mandal, Medical Officer of CHC Dr M Dhavoriya and local police officials.
