Seraikela, Dec 13: Over hundred villagers of Seraikela led by the local Deputy Pramukh Basudev Mahato put up a demonstration before Seraikela police station to demand arresting of a rape accused.
The protestors alleged that one Sanjay Mahato of Badakankra village of Seraikela had raped a girl student after promising to marry her. The accused allegedly raped the girl several times in the last one year. On 16th November last, the accused took the girl to Akarshini temple and forcibly put vermillion on her head. Thereafter, he took the girl to his house where continued exploiting her physically. His father Yogendra Mahato allegedly drove the victim out after beating her up and asked her not to enter his house again. The accused took the girl to Jamshedpur and kept her at a rented house. On 2nd December last, he abandoned her in front of her village, alleged the villagers.
