Jharkhand DGP Orders Strict Vigilance for NEET, JEE, and CUET

Ranchi: DGP Tadasha Mishra reviewed security preparedness for upcoming national and state-level competitive examinations, including NEET (UG) 2026, JEE, and CUET, during a video conference from police headquarters on Wednesday. The review also covered exams conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), focusing on maintaining fairness and transparency.

Focus on NEET (UG) 2026 and Logistics

With the NEET (UG) 2026 scheduled for May 3, the DGP directed all Superintendents of Police (SPs) to establish district-level coordination committees. She ordered the deployment of adequate personnel at all centres and mandated that police supervise the transportation of question papers from strong rooms.

Nodal officers in each district will inspect examination halls before the tests begin to ensure all venues meet security requirements.

Surveillance and Anti-Cheating Measures

To prevent malpractice, Mishra instructed officials to monitor hotels, lodges, and hostels closely. The department will increase social media surveillance to curb the spread of rumours and track illegal activities.

“Police must maintain a close watch on cyber cafes and locations suspected of illegal activity near exam centres,” Mishra stated. She also called for increased vigilance at bus stands and railway stations to monitor suspicious movements.

Traffic Management for Candidates

The DGP directed authorities to strengthen traffic arrangements to ensure candidates reach their centres without delays. Senior officials, including ADG Manoj Kaushik, IG (Special Branch) Prabhat Kumar, and SP (Operations) Deepak Kumar Sharma, attended the session, alongside Range IGs and SSPs from across the state.
