Gamharia: Tension escalated at Vijayashree Autocom Limited in Gamharia on Tuesday as workers accused management of severe violations of labor laws. The employees submitted a memorandum to Labor Superintendent Avinash Thakur, demanding immediate intervention to recover long-overdue payments.
Allegations of Labor Law Violations
The workforce alleges that the company has failed to pay salaries on time for several months, creating financial distress for hundreds of families. Beyond the unpaid wages, the workers highlighted a systemic failure to comply with statutory requirements, including:
-
Minimum Wages Act: Failure to pay the government-mandated baseline salary.
-
PF & ESI Irregularities: Irregular deposits into Provident Fund (PF) and Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) accounts.
-
Management Apathy: Workers claim that repeated internal discussions yielded no improvement in their working conditions or payment schedules.
Labour Department Issues Stern Warning
Upon receiving the memorandum, Labor Superintendent Avinash Thakur took a serious view of the situation. He has officially warned the Vijayashree Autocom management that they face strict legal action if the pending dues are not cleared within a stipulated timeframe. The department has initiated an investigation into the company’s financial records regarding employee contributions and statutory benefits.
