UCIL Jaduguda to bid farewell to 27 employees, including chief manager Sanjay Chatterjee

Jaduguda: In January, Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) will honor the retirement of 27 employees, including prominent leaders like Chief Manager (Personnel) Sanjay Chatterjee and General Manager cum Unit Head of Tummalapalli Uranium Project, MS Rao. The farewell ceremony is set to be a grand affair, featuring drums, trumpets, and other musical accompaniments to celebrate their illustrious careers and contributions to UCIL.

Among the retirees, Sanjay Chatterjee stands out for his remarkable 35-year tenure with the organization. Currently posted at the Tummalapalli Uranium Project in Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chatterjee will retire on January 31, leaving behind a legacy of unparalleled contributions to UCIL’s technological and operational advancements.

Joining UCIL as a Management Trainee on July 21, 1989, in the Accounts Department at Jaduguda, Chatterjee brought diverse expertise and leadership to various roles. He played a pivotal role in developing and installing computer systems and networks at UCIL’s Narwapahar, Turamdih, and Tummalapalli sites. His efforts in establishing a state-of-the-art server room at Jaduguda were instrumental in ensuring seamless operations, marking a transformative phase in UCIL’s technical infrastructure.

Known for his versatility and passion for learning, Chatterjee holds an impressive array of academic qualifications, including a B.Tech in Computer Science, PGDBA, LLB, M.Sc., PGDCA, and MBA. He is also a certified Cisco and Oracle Administrator. Beyond his professional achievements, Chatterjee is deeply admired for his interests in travel, writing, astrology, and spirituality.

Reflecting on his life, Chatterjee attributes his disciplined lifestyle to the values instilled by his late father, Mrityunjay Chatterjee, a DIG in the Uttar Pradesh Police, and his mother, Anubha Chatterjee. He is supported by his wife, Mouli Chatterjee, and his children, Aurindam and Mollika, both of whom have established successful careers.

The farewell event will also honour other notable retirees, including 11 employees from Narwapahar Uranium Mines, seven from Jaduguda Mines, and key personnel from Turamdih and Tummalapalli. As UCIL prepares to bid farewell, the contributions of these individuals, particularly Chatterjee’s leadership and vision, will be celebrated, leaving an enduring impact on the organization.
