Two arrested in Jamshedpur firing case

Jamshedpur, March 19: City police have arrested two persons in connection with the incident of firing on one Deepak Kumar Singh in Sonari. Those arrested were identified as Navneet Kumar alias Loha Yadav and Akshay Singh alias Bala.

SP City K Vijay Shankar said the accused persons were arrested from Arrah in Bihar. A pistol and one bullet were recovered on their information, he said.

“The accused persons had fired on Deepak in Kumharpara locality of Sonari on 10th March last. A total of five persons were involved in the incident. Three of them are still at large. Raids are on to nab them,” said the SP.

The SP said the prime accused of the case Rohit Singh had given Akshay the contract to kill Deepak. “Rohit had promised to pay Rs 3 lakh to Akshay for this job. Akshay had chosen Navneet and two others to help him carry out the murder plan. The five tried to do so one month ago. On 9th March, they reached the city once again. The next day they fired on Deepak and left the city. Rohit had paid Rs 1.5 lakh to Rohit for this job,” said the SP. The culprits had spent the night of 9th March at a Sakchi-based hotel, said the SP.
