Jamshedpur: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur, organized a Jail Lok Adalat at Ghaghidih Central Jail on Sunday, alongside a legal awareness programme and a medical camp for inmates.
The proceedings were attended by ACJM Ajay Kumar Guriya of the Civil Court, DLSA Secretary Kumar Saurabh Tripathi, Chief of Legal Aid Counsel Videsh Sinha, and assistant member Rajesh Srivastava. A total of two cases were taken up during the Jail Lok Adalat; however, both remained unsettled, with no case reaching disposal.
In addition to the court proceedings, judicial officers interacted with inmates, sensitising them about their legal rights while also reviewing their living conditions, food arrangements, and individual grievances.
A medical camp was also conducted simultaneously, during which a healthcare team carried out health check-ups of all inmates to assess their well-being.
The event witnessed active support and coordination from the jail superintendent, jailer, and other prison officials, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
