Jamshedpur, March 19: Tatanagar railway station would soon get facilities only available at airports at present.
According to sources, passenger amenities would be enhanced at the 57 railway stations of Jharkhand under the Amrit Bharat Yojana of the Central government. Budgetary allocations have been made for the proposed enhancement of facilities. “Rs 176.53 crore would be spent as per the proposal. Besides Tatanagar, the facilities would also be enhanced at Barajamda, Barkakana, Manoharpur, Ghatsila, Chandil, Raj Kharsawan, Muri and Sini stations,” said sources.
Sources maintained that roof plazas would be built at railway stations in place of foot over bridges. The proposals sent by the Divisional Railway Manager have been approved, sources said. Meanwhile, sources said, the timing of Tata-Godda weekly passenger train has been modififed with effect from 20th March. The train would depart Tatanagar at 2.35 pm instead of 2 pm. Sources further said that Tapaswini and Jagdalpur-Howrah Express trains would halt at Garposh station of Chakradharpur rail division.
