Seraikela: Though COVID-19 protocols restricted audience participation, the spirit of Chhau dance could not be suppressed. The pulse raced as artistes ensured adrenaline overflow. Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal, Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash and Padma Shri Pandit Gopal Prasad Dubey jointly inaugurated the three-day Chaitra Parv Chhau Mahotsav – 2022.
DC Arava Rajkamal observed on the occasion, “Chhau dance is a holistic and comprehensive art associated with traditional culture. Chhau dance is famous internationally and then state government has given this dance form the status of a state festival.” Seraikela Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Ram Krishna Kumar, Seraikela Block Development Officer Mrityunjay Kumar, Director Tapan Kumar Pattanaik were present on the occasion.
