Theft bid foiled at Tata Steel Jamshedpur plant, three held

Jamshedpur, April 24: A major theft attempt at the Tata Steel plant was thwarted in the early hours of Friday, with security personnel apprehending three suspects inside the premises.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when the accused allegedly entered the facility through a cable gallery.
Alert security staff on patrol noticed suspicious movement and swiftly intervened, leading to the arrest of the trio on the spot. Upon search, approximately 75 kilograms of copper cable—valued at several lakhs of rupees—was recovered from their possession.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Vikas Chinna, Deepak Lohar, and Avinash Mukhi.
Police have initiated an investigation and are probing possible links to a larger theft network.
