Jamshedpur, April 24: Under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ela Kumar, the B.P.Ed Faculty of Education at Jamshedpur Women’s University inaugurated a two-day training programme in basketball and swimming at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday.

The programme was formally launched by Dr. Hassan Imam Malik, an international handball coach and Manager (Health & Wellness Sports) at Tata Steel. The event was attended by B.P.Ed Head of Department Sajit Kumar Mahto, Assistant Professors Hemant Kumar and Saurabh Mandal, along with students from both the first and third semesters.
During the training, third-semester students received hands-on coaching in basketball from coach Rakesh Kumar, focusing on essential skills such as passing, receiving, and dribbling. Simultaneously, first-semester students were introduced to the fundamentals of swimming under the guidance of a female instructor, helping them build confidence and basic aquatic skills.
