Jamshedpur : Two section of people from different communities turned aggressive following over-night construction of a gate toward an under-constructed temple on Road No 14 in Jawaharnagar under Azadnagar police station area in Mango.
The trouble began in the morning when the members of temple construction committee found a gate carved out of the wall of an adjoining house which belonged to a medical practitioner, Alam Qureshi.
The temple committee members protested to the act of opening up of the gate and wanted Qureshi to close it, asking him clearly that such gate toward the temple will be violation of the religious place. But Qureshi was adamant on his stand and refused to close the gate.
Soon after the incident, the number of supporters of Qureshi started increasing. On the other hand, about 25 youths whom Qureshi started moving aggressively towards the plot of land adjoining the under constructed temple. But when the situation was about to go out of control, police arrived at the scene and controlled the situation.
Deputy superintendent of police, (Pardih-Patamda) Amit Kumar Singh also arrived at the scene and brought in about five section of armed police as well as Rapid Action Force.
Soon after sub-divisional officer, Dhalbhum Alok Kumar also arrived at the spot and after conducting a spot inspection, he ordered for the closure of the gate immediately.
The SDO spoke to Qureshi and asked him to explain about the need to open up a gate toward the temple, which may lead to unnecessary controversy with the temple committee people in future.
