Jamshedpur: The long-standing issue of mud and mismanagement at the Durga Puja Ground near Hata Birsa Chowk in Potka block will soon be a thing of the past. Chief Guest and Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar, alongside Special Guest and Block Deputy Pramukh Urmila Samad, jointly laid the foundation stone for a new paver block installation project on Tuesday after performing traditional rituals.
The project, valued at approximately ₹5 lakh, drew enthusiastic participation from local villagers and Durga Puja Committee members.
Speaking at the foundation ceremony, MLA Sanjeev Sardar highlighted the ground’s immense significance to the local community. Large numbers of devotees visit the Maa Durga and Maa Kali temples located on the premises every day. The ground serves as the central venue for the region’s major religious, social, and cultural gatherings.
“Installing these paver blocks will solve the persistent problem of waterlogging and mud during the monsoon season. It will provide massive relief to visitors and significantly enhance the aesthetic beauty of the entire complex,” Sardar stated.
