Tata Workers’ Union pays tribute to Michael John

 

Jamshedpur, August 3: Tata Workers’ Union solemnly observed the 48th death anniversary of its former President, Late Michael John, on Sunday. The day began with a tribute ceremony at his memorial located in the Circuit House Area, Bistupur. Union members offered candles and floral tributes, praying for the peace of his soul.

Present at the morning ceremony were Vice President Shahnawaz Alam, Assistant Secretaries Ajay Kumar Choudhary and Shyam Babu, Treasurer and Accountant Amod Kumar Dubey, and Director of the Michael John Centre Jaydev Upadhyay, along with several Executive Committee members and Union staff.

Later in the evening, a memorial meeting was held at 5:00 PM at the Tata Workers’ Union premises. During the gathering, Jaydev Upadhyay delivered a detailed address on Michael John’s legacy, leadership, and enduring contributions to the Union and labour movement.

Attendees reflected on his visionary and dynamic leadership, drawing inspiration to uphold his values in their service to the Union. The meeting concluded with a two-minute silence and collective prayer in memory of the departed leader. The event served as a reminder of Michael John’s lasting impact on workers’ rights and union solidarity.
