One Killed, Several Injured in Collision on NH-33 Near Chowka

Seraikela: A high-impact collision between two vehicles on the Tata–Ranchi stretch of NH-33 resulted in one death and left over half a dozen people injured on Tuesday. The accident occurred near Mukhia Hotel under the jurisdiction of the Chowka police station.

Witnesses reported that a Bolero and a Swift car collided head-on with such force that the Swift driver died instantly at the scene. The impact left both vehicles mangled, causing immediate panic among commuters and local residents.

Rescue Efforts and Casualties

Local residents quickly reached the site to pull the victims from the wreckage. They shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where several remain in critical condition.

One of the Bolero’s occupants has been identified as Dabar Ansari, son of Rustam Ansari and a resident of Ichagarh Chouda. Authorities are currently prioritizing medical care for the survivors as their conditions are closely monitored.

Police Investigation

The Chowka police arrived at the site shortly after the incident to seize the damaged vehicles and clear the highway. While the official investigation is ongoing, initial reports suggest that over-speeding by one or both vehicles likely caused the fatal crash.

Police have initiated a probe to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the collision.
