65-Year-Old Man Killed in Train Accident During Morning Walk

Jamshedpur: A railway accident claimed the life of 65-year-old Sidyu Soy in Nandupadu village on Tuesday morning, in the Sundernagar area.

Sidyu Soy, a resident of Nandup village, reportedly left his home around 5:00 AM for his routine morning walk. According to his son, Kamal Soy, a speeding train struck the elderly man as he attempted to cross the tracks between the Karandih and Sundernagar railway crossings on the Tatanagar-Badampahar route. The impact resulted in his instant death.


Police Investigation and Formalities

Upon receiving information from railway employees, the Sundernagar police (along with Parsudih police) arrived promptly at the scene. They took the body into custody and completed the necessary legal formalities. Authorities later sent the remains to MGM Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police have registered a case under the Unnatural Death (UD) category and are currently investigating the matter further.

Safety Concerns in the Area

The incident has left the village in deep sorrow. In the wake of the tragedy, local residents and family members have urged people to exercise extreme caution when crossing railway tracks. Villagers have also called on railway authorities to improve safety measures in the area to prevent future loss of life.
