Jamshedpur, August 3: To celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary writer Munshi Premchand, the multilingual literary organization Sahyog and the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West jointly organized a special literary event at the auditorium of Motilal Nehru Public School. The event featured dramatic performances based on Premchand’s iconic stories, presented by students from 11 prestigious schools across the city.

The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and garlanding of Premchand’s portrait. The highlight of the day was the vibrant stage presentations that brought the writer’s socially relevant themes to life. Senior artist Krishna Sinha, the chief guest, praised the performances and commended the organizers for promoting literary awareness among the youth.

The judging panel comprised literary personalities Hari Mittal, Dinkar Sharma, and Sudha Goyal. Awards were presented in memory of Dr. Veena Rani Srivastava. The Prabha Samman was awarded to the best actor and best actress, while the Vaidushyamani Dr. Veena Rani Srivastava Samman went to the best play. All student participants received certificates and mementos from Sahyog.

Rotary Club President Ashok Jha welcomed the guests and expressed pride in the ongoing collaboration with Sahyog. He highlighted that the Rotary Club works closely with eight schools, organizing events to encourage leadership and cultural growth.
The successful execution of the program was made possible by dedicated members of the Rotary Club, including Vinita Jha, Vidya Tiwari, Dr. Gandhi, Anupam Sehgal, Sanjeev Sehgal, Ruby Bhatia, Dr. Anita Sharma, Dr. Pushpa Kumari, and Chhaya Prasad.
