Tata Group companies to open branches in Jamshedpur: Chandrasekaran

Unions play important role in company�s progress: Ratan Tata

Jamshedpur: Tata Group companies will soon open their branches in Jamshedpur. This was announced by the Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran during his visit to Tata Workers Union office on Founder�s Day along with Tata Group Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata, company MD and CEO TV Narendran and other company officials.

Addressing the gathering, Chandrasekaran said the unions played a vital role in the development of Tata Group companies. Congratulating the management and union for their good performance, he said efforts would be made to open branches of other Tata Group companies in the city.

Addressing the gathering, Ratan Tata said the employees and unions had played a crucial role in taking the company to its present place. He said the union had worked on a partnership basis which would continue in the future.

Narendran said the company was developing the city under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. He spoke about works done on skill development and said it would continue further.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Tata Workers Union president R Ravi Prasad spoke on the management-union relationship and the recently held union elections. He said 99 per cent employees had participated in the elections. He requested the company stalwarts to open branches of other Tata Group companies in the city.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Executive Director and CFO Kaushik Chatterjee, VP (HRM) Suresh Dutt Tripathy and Chief (IR) Zubin Palia.
