Swami Vivekananda’s statue to be unveiled in Jamshedpur on Jan 12: Saryu

Jamshedpur, Dec 31: Swami Vivekananda’s statue at the foothills of Bhuvaneshwari Temple and Shri Krishna Temple located at Telco will be unveiled on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on January 12, 2023.

Significantly, January 12 is observed as Youth Day across the country.

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy on Saturday inspected the site where the statue of Swami Vivekananda will be installed. This statue is being installed with public cooperation, because the district administration has not allocated funds to install the statue from the MLA fund.

Jamshedpur East’s MLA Saryu Rai, on January 6, 2022, through a letter to the Deputy Development Commissioner of East Singhbhum, requested to take necessary action to release funds from the MLA’s fund to install Swami Vivekananda’s statue at this site. But the district administration has not taken any action in this regard so far in the direction of releasing the funds. After this, MLA again wrote a letter to the Deputy Development Commissioner on October 14, 2022, recommending the release of funds from the MLA fund for the construction of a park for senior citizens at the foothills of Shri Bhuvaneshwari Temple. But there is no concrete information about what action has been taken by the district administration on this also.

The place where Swami Vivekananda’s statue is to be installed and a park for senior citizens is to be set up is in the sublease area of the Tata Motors and is mainly maintained by the management committee of the temple. Neither Tata Motors nor the temple management committee has any objection to installing the statue of Swami Vivekananda at this site and developing it as a park.

It is worth mentioning that on January 12, 2022, Bhoomi Pujan was done to install the statue at this site, in which the officials of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and the people of the temple management committee were present and this information was also given to the Tata Motors management.
