Jamshedpur Flower show splashes colours on city’s merry atmosphere

Jamshedpur, December 31: The annual flower show organized at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur has become a center of attraction for the people.

The flower show which is scheduled till January 2 has witnessed participants from across the country exhibiting flowers.

In these, many types of flower plants like rose, marigold, dahlia, hibiscus, petunia, chandramouli etc. are very much liked by the people, especially tourists.

There are 70 varieties of roses in the flower show. Roses are visible everywhere in the flower show. A total of 70 varieties of roses are present in the flower show. Rose specialist Shankar Sarkhel said that all the rose plants are there in the flower show. It can be planted in sand and fly ash as they will not be able to thrive in soil. Because, the soil of Jamshedpur is not fit for rose flowers.

Competition is being organized in many groups for the prize of Perennial Flower in Lap First Prize Flower Show. Of these, Tinplate’s beautiful perennial flower has got the first place.

Garden in-charge of Tinplate, Nilesh Ghosh told that flowers keep coming throughout the year in perennials. It is an evergreen plant. Apart from this, flower plants like Gladius Stitch, Capsicum, Snowball, Sutiya etc. have been brought in the competition from Tinplate horticulture. Snowball won second prize among flowers arranged by Tinplate. In Medicinal Plant, Tinplate’s Hathjodi plant has got the second prize. Feather Palm has got the first prize among plants. Apart from Tinplate, Tata Steel, M Enterprises, JCAPCPL, Kanke Resorts and other nursery operators of the city have participated in the flower show.

Bonsai decorated with attractive flowers is also the center of attraction.

Bonsai of banyan, peepal, neem, mango etc. have been exhibited in the flower show. Those who came to see the flower show also bought flower plants. Among the flowers, rose, hibiscus, marigold, petunia etc. plants were sold in abundance. People also bought bonsai of bamboo. Bamboo bonsai is beautifully placed in a small glass pot. Apart from this, the organization that came from Ranchi has also set up a stall of beautiful flower pots. There are more than one beautiful pots available here whose price ranges from Rs.50 to Rs.1000.

Organiser of  flower show this time have started campus mobile photography contest. In this, people taking their selfies in the flower show can send their photos through email. Best photography will be rewarded. This photo can be sent to campus talent@gmail.com.
