Jamshedpur: Steel Oars, the TSAF Rowing Academy team, delivered an impressive performance at the ASMITA National Women’s Rowing League, securing the second runner-up position.
The team showcased strong performances across multiple events, reflecting the growing strength of the TSAF Rowing Academy and the consistent dedication of its athletes and coaches.
Shreya Kumari clinched the gold medal in the Single Scull event, earning 8 points for the team and securing the first national-level gold medal for the TSAF Rowing Academy.
In the Coxless Pair event, Gauri Kumari Sahu and Komal Kumari captured a bronze medal, adding 6 valuable points to the team’s tally.
The Double Scull pair of Muskan Singh and Avya Shukla also delivered a strong performance to contribute 5 points, while the Coxless Four team—comprising Aditi Yadav, Chitra Singh, Shivani Kumari, and Mimansha—added 4 points to the overall standings.
Adding to the academy’s proud moments, TSAF rower Sulekha, representing the Gorakhpur team, also won a bronze medal for her squad.
The performance of Steel Oars highlights the commitment, discipline, and teamwork of the athletes and coaching staff as they continue to build a strong regional rowing culture and create opportunities for young athletes to compete nationally.
