Suspected murder of woman in Jamshedpur, in-laws under scanner

Jamshedpur, May 9: Rita Pramanik, a resident of Haludbani Rao Colony, was found dead under suspicious conditions in the courtyard of her residence.

Upon receiving information, relatives from Rita’s maternal side arrived at the scene and accused her in-laws of murder, resulting in a commotion. Rita’s husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law were detained by her maternal relatives. Police were informed and they arrived promptly, taking custody of the body and transferring it to MGM Hospital.

The in-laws were also detained and taken to the police station for interrogation. Rita’s brother Avinash stated that the house where his sister resided was constructed by him and provided to her. Rita, who earned a living by tutoring children, was married to Raghuvar Singh, who is visually impaired. Avinash alleged that Raghuvar’s siblings sought to claim ownership of the house, and Rita had previously been subjected to physical abuse, resulting in a broken leg.

Avinash received a call informing him of his sister’s murder. On reaching her house, they discovered Rita’s body with head injuries in the courtyard. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
