Fraud case registered for misusing Odisha Governor Raghubar Das’ photo on Facebook

Bhubaneswar, May 9: A case of fraud involving the misuse of the photo of Odisha Governor and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Facebook has been reported. The case was registered at Dhurwa police station based on a statement provided by Raghubar Das’ Personal Secretary, Dinesh Kedia.

According to Kedia, a Facebook post surfaced on May 6 under the profile name Sharma Pratap Oraon, featuring Raghubar Das’ photo. The post claimed to offer job opportunities, stating that twenty candidates were required from each district to work from home. It included two mobile numbers for contact.

Concerned by the misleading post, Kedia alerted the authorities, leading to the registration of a case under sections 170, 66C, and 66D. The police are investigating the origin of the Facebook profile and the source of the posts.

Authorities assured swift resolution of the case and promised stringent action against the perpetrators. Senior police officials have been briefed on the matter to ensure its prompt resolution.
