Jamshedpur: Kolhan University has come under scrutiny as 146 bell-based teachers have not received their salaries for the past five months, leading to severe financial distress among them. Adding to the turmoil, there are reports of the university planning to terminate the services of 35 teachers, a move vehemently opposed by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

The delay in salary disbursement has left many teachers struggling to meet their daily expenses, exacerbating their financial woes. The impending termination of 35 teachers has further exacerbated tensions among the teaching staff and students alike. This situation has disrupted teaching activities, adversely affecting students’ education.

ABVP, expressing deep concern over the issue, has demanded immediate payment of pending salaries, withdrawal of the termination order, and a lasting resolution to prevent such crises in the future. ABVP Jamshedpur Metropolitan Co-Minister, Abhishek Kumar, emphasized the dedication of teachers towards providing quality education despite facing financial hardships. He urged the university administration to swiftly address the grievances; otherwise, ABVP would resort to protests, holding the Kolhan University administration accountable for any ensuing consequences.
