Jamshedpur, April 19: A rainy surprise was in store for the people of Jamshedpur on Tuesday. However, it was only too transitory to give any considerable relief from the scorching heat.

The rain lashed few parts of the city in the afternoon, a day after the city recorded maximum temperature of 43.2 degree Celsius. At some places, only a few rain drops were witnessed, making it short of a drizzle.

Till afternoon, the citizens reeled under a beaming sun beating down mercilessly on dehydrated souls. Sudden change of weather brought back hopes for a break from the inclement weather condition. Heatwaves continued to torment the citizens, making it difficult for office goers, school kids and commuters to travel after 10 O’clock.

At few places like Jubilee Park and Keenan Stadium, a good amount of rain brought the soaring mercury down few notches. But many places just received scanty rainfall. Met office in Ranchi had forecast rains on 17 and 18th April. But the rains were delayed by two days.
