Jamshedpur, May 12: Chief Minister Champai Soren, in a resolute stance during an election rally held in Lowadih Panchayat of Patamda, Jugsalai Assembly Constituency, and Nunnuni Tand in Potka Block of Potka Assembly, rallied support for INDI Alliance candidate Samir Mohanty for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. Soren reiterated the government’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of tribal and indigenous communities, highlighting key initiatives and pledges aimed at their upliftment and empowerment.

Addressing the longstanding issue of the implementation of the Khatian of 1932, Soren underscored the government’s unwavering resolve to pursue this matter diligently. He affirmed that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) would not relent until the rights enshrined in the Khatian of 1932 are fully realized, signaling a continued struggle on this front.

Emphasizing the preservation and promotion of regional languages spoken by indigenous communities, Soren announced plans to reinstate language-wise primary teachers and commence education initiatives from June onwards. This initiative aims to celebrate and nurture linguistic diversity, including Bengali, Odia, Khortha, Santhal, Bhumij, Mundari, and Kudukh languages, integral to the cultural fabric of Jharkhand.

Expressing dismay over the central government’s withholding of funds amounting to Rs 136 crore earmarked for Jharkhand, Soren condemned the delay in fulfilling promises, particularly regarding housing schemes. Despite persistent efforts and correspondence by the state government, the promised Prime Minister Housing Scheme failed to materialize, prompting the implementation of the Abua Housing Scheme. Soren announced that over two lakh families have already benefited from this scheme, with plans to extend it to a total of twenty lakh families.

Highlighting the contrasting approaches to welfare between the BJP and the coalition government, Soren pointed to initiatives such as issuing green ration cards to twenty lakh families and providing 125 units of free electricity to thirty lakh families. Additionally, efforts are underway to expand the Sarvajan Pension Yojana, ensuring pension coverage from the age of fifty onwards. Soren also outlined plans for establishing smart and model schools at the Panchayat and block levels to enhance educational opportunities.

In a bid to honor indigenous heritage, Soren pledged to beautify tribal temples and Goramthans, reflecting the government’s commitment to preserving cultural landmarks. The rally concluded with a reaffirmation of support for Samir Mohanty and the INDI Alliance, echoing Soren’s vision for inclusive development and empowerment in Jamshedpur and beyond. (w/nkm)

Jamshedpur, May 12: In a charged address underscoring the plight of Jharkhand’s tribal populace, Chief Minister Champai Soren condemned the BJP’s alleged history of deceit and manipulation in the state. Speaking passionately, Soren lamented the exploitation of Jharkhand’s abundant mineral wealth juxtaposed with the innocence of its tribal inhabitants.

Accusing the BJP of chronic betrayal despite its longstanding reign in Jharkhand, Soren recounted a recent episode wherein former Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s welfare initiatives elicited discomfort among BJP ranks. Soren alleged that the BJP retaliated by implicating Hemant Soren in a fabricated case, resulting in his unjust imprisonment.

Asserting the need for accountability and change, Soren rallied the populace to oust the BJP from power and support the JMM candidate, Samir Mohanty, of the INDI Alliance in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha elections. He called upon the electorate to deliver a resounding victory for Mohanty, signaling a decisive rejection of BJP’s alleged malpractices and a mandate for progress and justice.
