Ranchi, June 9: The Department of Posts, Jharkhand Circle, has extended working hours for Aadhaar-related services at all 13 Head Post Offices (HOs) across the state to provide greater convenience to the public, said a press release issued by the office of the Chief Postmaster General, Jharkhand Circle, Ranchi.
According to the release, Chief Postmaster General Sanjeev Ranjan informed that the extended timing for Aadhaar services came into effect on June 9. Under the new arrangement, Aadhaar-related work at all 13 Head Post Offices in Jharkhand will now be carried out from 7 am to 5 pm daily.
The move has been taken to reduce inconvenience faced by people visiting post offices for Aadhaar enrolment, correction, and updating services. The department hopes that the longer working hours will help accommodate a larger number of applicants and reduce crowding during peak hours.
Officials said the decision would benefit students, working professionals, senior citizens, and rural residents who often face difficulties visiting post offices during regular office timings. Aadhaar-related services at post offices include new enrolments, biometric updates, address corrections, mobile number updates, and other modifications linked to the Aadhaar card.
The press release further stated that similar facilities with extended service timings would soon be introduced at all 13 Major Departmental Post Offices (MDGs) in Jharkhand as well.
The Department of Posts has appealed to residents to make use of the extended service hours for Aadhaar-related work and avoid last-minute rushes. The initiative is expected to improve public access to Aadhaar services and ensure smoother functioning at post office centres across the state.
