Jamshedpur, June 9: Tata Steel Aviation Services successfully conducted a Full Scale Emergency Exercise (FSEE) at Jamshedpur Airport on June 9, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., in compliance with the requirements laid down by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR).
Jamshedpur Airport, a licensed aerodrome under the public-use category, is operated by Tata Steel Aviation, a department of Tata Steel. As part of regulatory requirements, a Full Scale Emergency Exercise is conducted periodically to assess preparedness and ensure coordinated response among all agencies involved in airport emergency management.

The exercise was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response plans, to test coordination among various stakeholders, and to assess the readiness of personnel and equipment in handling aviation-related emergencies. It also provided an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and strengthen preparedness for real-life situations.

The mock drill involved the active participation of multiple agencies, including district administration representatives, police authorities, airport security personnel, Tata Steel Fire & Security Services, city fire services, government health agencies, Tata Main Hospital medical teams, BSNL representatives, airline operators, and airport officials. The Corporate Communication Department coordinated media management during the exercise.
During the exercise, a simulated aircraft emergency scenario was enacted to test rescue and firefighting capabilities, medical response, communication systems, and inter-agency coordination.
The entire mock drill was planned, executed, and supervised by K.K. Pandey, Senior Executive Aviation Operations, Tata Steel.
A detailed report on the exercise and observations will be submitted to the DGCA for review and compliance purposes.
