Jamshedpur: A special camp for registration of voters is going to be organized at all polling booths in East Singhbhum on 29th March. This is being done on the directive issued by Chief Returning Officer cum Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet (Election) department, government of Jharkhand.
District officials said those voters whose names are yet to be included in the electoral rolls can go to their nearest polling booths and get their names added to the list of voters. In case there are anomalies in name and address of voters, applications may be given for the same, officials said.
Officials said the Election Commission of India is going to organize the special camp to make sure that no voter is deprived of his right to vote. Physically challenged voters are also being encouraged to vote in large numbers. The responsibility of taking such voters to polling booths is on the shoulders of the district administration, officials said.
East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner cum district Returning Officer appealed to all voters to make sure that their names are registered in the electoral rolls.
