Seraikela Congress to set house in order, replace nonperforming office bearers

Gamharia, May 6: In a move to revamp the Congress Party prospects especially with the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 in mind, it was decided that nonperforming party office bearers would be replaced by members with drive to add pep to organizational policies and programmes.

Congress Party District In-charge and State Congress Disciplinary Committee Coordinator Riazuddin Khan and District President Chhotray Kisku informed about this move to set the Congress house in order. They were speaking at a press conference organized in Gamharia. jointly gave this information during the press conference held in Gamharia. They stated that these steps were to be promulgated especially in view of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for 2024.

Riazuddin Khan informed that a list of inactive Congress Party members from bloc up to district levels had been prepared and it included several Congress block committee presidents and other office bearers. Both, Riazuddin Khan and Chhotray Kisku mentioned that a state level brain storming session had been organized in Ranchi last Wednesday with similar lists from other districts and it was decided that such dormant party functionaries and other members would be relieved of their responsibilities and replaced by other Congress members who were energetic and alive to party and social causes. Senior Congress leaders including State In-charge Akhilesh Pandey, State President Rajesh Thakur, MP Geeta Koda, former Union Minister and District Convener Subodh Kant Sahay were present during the discussions at Ranchi on Wednesday.

During the press meet in Gamharia, both, Riazuddin Khan and Chhotray Kisku said the list also included names of party members who could not devote full time to party activities. Khan said that during the state level Congress discussion session conducted between April 18 and 24, the very absence of the named inactive party members proved such members’ non-committal attitude towards their responsibilities. He said that presently, there were 32 wings of Congress and more than 71 office bearers. He said that after the reorganizational process, a 100 day programme would be organized by the Congress Party.
