Jamshedpur, March 2: Jharkhand’s first Science Park has been set up with joint effort of JUSCO, Tata Steel, JEM Foundation and SVYM (Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement) at JUSCO School, South Park.
The Park was inaugurated by D. K. Mehrotra, Director, Tata Steel, along with Mrs Sunita Mehrotra and Ashish Mathur, MD, JUSCO on Thursday, March 2.
This is JUSCOs contribution to develop the scientific temper of the city. The objective of this park to help school children learn the basic principles of science in an experiential way.
The park has several apparatus and models which work on different principles of science. The children while working on this apparatus get to see for themselves how the principles of science work.
This way the children will get a much better conceptual understanding of the principles and its applications. It is aimed at evoking their curiosity by challenging them to find answers by exploring the principles demonstrated by the apparatus.
This method of learning will be far more enjoyable and also more effective than the traditional text book method of learning.
The idea of Science Park was conceived by Ashish Mathur, MD, JUSCO and was executed by Neeraj Kumar Singh, Chief DM (Civil Maintenance), JUSCO and his team.

The Science Park will be accessible to school children across the city. During the inauguration the models were explained and demonstrated by the children of the three JUSCO schools.
