Jamshedpur, July 27: If sources are to be believed, Mandu MLA Jai Prakash Bhai Patel is likely to be BJP Legislature Party leader in Jharkhand. Although the official announcement is yet to be made, it is expected to be revealed after the meeting.
Other names, including CP Singh, Anant Ojha, and Biranchi Narayan, are also potential candidates.
The party’s strategic decision is to appoint an OBC leader as the Leader of Opposition, and JP Patel, hailing from the OBC community, has emerged as the frontrunner. He had been in Delhi for several days and had meetings with State in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee and BJP National President JP Nadda.
CP Singh, Anant Ojha, and JP Patel, stated that they are ready to fulfill whatever responsibility the party assigns to them. They mentioned that they currently have no information regarding the leadership position, and the final decision will only be taken during the meeting to select the BJP Legislature Party leader.
The meeting will be attended by In-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee and central supervisor Ashwini Choubey. The central observer’s presence is crucial in determining the new leader of the Legislature Party, and the assembly will be informed once the leader is elected.
Recent significant changes have been strategically implemented within the Jharkhand BJP to strengthen the party. Notably, Deepak Prakash was replaced by Babulal Marandi as the state president. The decision to appoint a new Leader of Opposition is vital, especially with the monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha commencing on July 28.
