Major cyber-fraud gang busted in Birsanagar; five arrested

A joint police team from Ramgarh and Jamshedpur raided a house in Om Nagar, Birsanagar. Authorities busted a major cyber-fraud gang during the operation.
Officers arrested five individuals, at the scene. They also seized over 20 mobile phones, multiple SIM cards, laptops, and cash.
The raid stemmed from an ongoing cyber-fraud investigation in Ramgarh. Criminals recently swindled an individual out of 43 lakh rupees in that case.
Investigators traced critical leads directly to the Birsanagar property. The gang allegedly used the residence as their main operational base.
A retired Tata Steel employee owns the targeted Om Nagar home. Police took the owner into custody for detailed questioning regarding the illegal activities.
Neighbours frequently noticed young men and women visiting the house late at night. Visitors regularly arrived and departed in luxury vehicles, raising local suspicions.
Residents only discovered the active cyber-fraud network after the police intervention. The suspect operation had remained hidden within the quiet residential area.
Officers are currently interrogating all detained suspects to uncover additional details. They are analysing the seized digital devices and financial records to trace stolen funds.
Authorities hope to identify other gang members and link the group to broader cybercrime networks across the region. Officials will issue a full statement this Friday.
