CISCE Zonal Carrom selection trial concludes at RMS School Balichela, Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 26: The CISCE Zonal Carrom Selection Trial concluded today at RMS School Balichela, Sonari. The two-day event, which featured a vibrant cultural program on the final day, saw the announcement of results for all three categories of boys and girls after intense league cum knockout matches.

Chief guest for the closing ceremony was Vibhuti D Adesara, Head Sports (Training Centres and Events), Tata Steel.

Guest of honour was Dr Hassan Imam Mallick, Manager Tata Steel Sports Department, Anup Kumar Singh, President of East Singhbhum Carrom Board Association, and Sanjay Kedia, President of Hindustan Maitri Sangh.

Other notable attendees were Academic Head VK Tulsiyan, Trustees RK Jhunjhunwala, Ramesh Agrawala, SS Gadiya, MP Agiwal, Vice President Kumud Agrawala, Babita Kedia, Vandana Jain, Secretary Sushil Agarwal, and the Principal of RMS Balichela, Pratima Sinha.

The event began with the honoring of the chief guest and special guests with plants and souvenirs, presented by the school management committee.

In his address, chief guest Vibhuti D Adesara lauded the school for its excellent organization and congratulated the winning players, assuring them of all possible support from the Sports Department for future competitions.

A total of 259 participants from 22 CISCE schools in the Jamshedpur zone competed in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 boys and girls categories. The successful participants will now advance to the regional competition to be held at KPS Kadma, Jamshedpur, from July 31 to August 2, 2024.

Under-14 Boys Category:

  • First: Abir Bag (Church School Beldih)
  • Second: Umar Baig (Andhra Association English School)
  • Third: Raihan Alarm (Church School Beldih)

Under-14 Doubles:

  • First: Md Saifuddin Asdque and Fariq Baig (Andhra Association English School)
  • Second: Aarav Gupta and Aarth Kumar (Carmel Junior College)

Under-14 Girls Category:

  • First: Sonam Jha (Church School Beldih)
  • Second: Payal Ghosh (Church School Beldih)
  • Third: Samridhi Ambasta (JH Tarapur)

Under-14 Girls Doubles:

  • First: Anshika and Alisha Bharti (JH Tarapur)
  • Second: Ayesha Jayant and Alia Afreen (KPS Mango)

Under-17 Boys Category:

  • First: Aditya Kumar (Church School Beldih)
  • Second: Gaurav Kumar (Church School Beldih)
  • Third: Akash Chand (KPS Gamharia)

Under-17 Boys Doubles:

  • First: Saurabh Kumar Pandey and Deepanshu Pal (KPS Gamharia)
  • Second: Md Numan Khan and Anay Raj Mukhi (Andhra Association English School)

Under-17 Girls Category:

  • First: Suhani Kamal (KPS Gamharia)
  • Second: Samia Shariq (KPS Mango)
  • Third: Deepnita Manik (JH Tarapur)

Under-17 Girls Doubles:

  • First: Yashasvi Pareek and Ayesha Beg (JH Tarapur)
  • Second: Ishaara Sultana and Zubia Ali (KPS Mango)

Under-19 Boys Category:

  • First: Rishabh Kumar Singh (KPS Gamharia)
  • Second: Rohan Kumar Singh (Church School Beldih)
  • Third: Dinesh Kumar (Andhra Association English School)

Under-19 Boys Doubles:

  • First: Amit Kumar Gupta and Suraj Kumar Sahu (Church School Beldih)
  • Second: Rehan Uddin and Md Huzaifa Khan (Andhra Association English School)

Under-19 Girls Category:

  • First: Sarita Agarwal (JH Tarapur)
  • Second: Nazra Ahmed (JH Tarapur)
  • Third: Nidhi Kumari (Andhra Association English School)

Under-19 Girls Doubles:

  • First: Deepika Kumari and Swati Kumari (KPS Gamharia)
  • Second: Faiz Sajid and Nazra Shaukat (JH Tarapur)

The program concluded with a traditional flag lowering ceremony. The school captain respectfully handed over the flag to Principal Pratima Sinha. The event was conducted by Pranjali Pandey and Madhu Verma. The closing address and vote of thanks were delivered by Sanjay Kedia, President of Rajasthan Maitri Sangh. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
