Jamshedpur-Born Former Miss India Tanushree Dutta Raises Fresh Harassment Allegations Against Mumbai Housing Society  

Mumbai/Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur-born actress Tanushree Dutta has once again raised concerns over alleged harassment at her housing society in Mumbai, claiming that the situation worsened after she accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement in 2018.

In a series of social media posts, the actress alleged that her kitchen water supply at her Oshiwara residence in Andheri West had been disconnected for the past two months after she refused to allow unidentified workers into her apartment without proper written communication and documentation.

A former student of DBMS English School, Tanushree Dutta won the Femina Miss India in 2004 and was among the top 10 Finalists in Miss Universe 2004. She made her debut in Indian Movie Cinema with ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapane’ in 2005.

Tanushree, who had accused Nana Patekar of misconduct during the shooting of the 2009 film Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss, said that repeated plumbing work had been carried out in her apartment over the last year under the pretext of fixing leaking pipes.

According to the actress, “random men” were repeatedly sent into her home for hours-long plumbing work despite the work reportedly being completed earlier. She stated that after she insisted on proper procedures and official email communication before granting access to workers, her kitchen water supply was disconnected.

The actress also referred to a previous “security breach” at her residence and questioned the conduct of a police officer who allegedly visited her apartment alone and recorded videos inside the premises.

In her comments, Tanushree Dutta further alleged that certain “criminal organisations” linked to influential networks in politics, administration, police, and the film industry should be investigated. She claimed that many of the issues began after the #MeToo allegations against Nana Patekar.

The actress also mentioned retired Mumbai Police encounter specialist Daya Nayak, claiming he became “very strange” towards her after 2018. She stated that Daya Nayak resides in the same housing complex and had earlier been cordial during social interactions.

Referring to actor Akshay Kumar, Tanushree Dutta also claimed that he owns a flat in a neighbouring building within the same locality.

The actress further questioned how certain individuals, including police personnel, could afford residences in the upscale housing complex and alleged that several members of the film industry owned apartments there.

A Mumbai court in 2025 had dismissed the sexual harassment case and related plea filed by Tanushree Dutta against Nana Patekar in connection with the 2018 allegations.
