Samadhaan to organise two-day exhibition Anokhi from Jan 8

Jamshedpur : Social organization Samadhaan will organise a two-day exhibition titled Anokhi at The Alcor hotel in Bistupur to provide a platform to women entrepreneurs and help them showcase their products.

It will be organised on Jan 8 and 9. There will be 25 kiosks at the exhibition that would present traditional wear, paintings, designer sarees, fashion jewellery, food products from cottage industries and decorative lights and lamps. Exhibitors will come from Delhi, Ludhiana and Ranchi.

Most of the entrepreneurs will be from Jamshedpur.

Dinesh Sahu, patron, Samadhaan at a press meet today said that the funds generated from the exhibition will be used in a livelihood programme for disabled and needy women of the city.

Samadhaan would organise this exhibition as a fund raiser for their new social venture– Sakhi Saheli, that would train women to make bio-degradable sanitary napkins. The NGO has already identified a place in Baradwari where the production would commence from this month.

Poonam Vig, the president of Samadhaan Vig said that Samadhaan since last year have started doing considerable social work. Last month it organised a community marriage for 11 poor girls and has also worked on the awareness of girl child and campaigns against female foeticide.
