Mumbai wedding mass poisoning: bride, groom, 29 guests hospitalised

At least 31 people, including the bride and groom, landed in Mumbai hospitals after a suspected food poisoning outbreak at a wedding ceremony in Nahur West.
Officials said nearly 500 guests attended the event on Sunday at Nalanda Buddha Vihar Hall. Illness struck around 100 guests who ate during the final meal service.
Symptoms began hours after the feast. Guests experienced severe vomiting and discomfort upon returning home late Sunday night, with the bride falling ill first.
Medical teams admitted 22 victims to MT Agarwal Hospital in Mulund. Doctors placed four young children in Kamgar Hospital and five other patients in a Vikhroli facility.
All hospitalised guests remain in stable condition and continue to receive medical treatment. Healthcare workers report that additional affected attendees are still seeking medical assistance.
Victims and family members blamed the caterers for severe negligence. They demanded immediate official action against the food suppliers and the venue management committee.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials and local police currently monitor the situation. Relevant government agencies continue investigating the exact cause of the contamination.
