Police in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district registered a case after a dumper driver tried to run over Vyaspur Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Kuldeep Singh on October 31.
The official was traveling to Sadhaura to participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ event around 6:15 a.m. when he spotted the suspicious dumper.
The SDM noticed a blurred number plate on the dumper carrying suspected illegal mining material. He immediately ordered the driver to stop for inspection.
The driver accelerated and steered the heavy vehicle directly at the SDM to hit him. Dr. Singh narrowly escaped injury and quickly alerted local police.
Dr. Singh gave chase, but a white car began following his vehicle. The car driver swerved repeatedly and slammed on the brakes to block him.
This dangerous obstruction allowed the dumper driver to flee the scene. The SDM recorded the entire high-speed encounter on his mobile phone camera.
Sadhaura police station in-charge Lakhwinder Singh confirmed officers registered a formal case against the dumper driver and the occupants of the car.
Authorities launched a massive search operation to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects. Investigators are examining the recorded phone footage to identify the culprits.
Police are also investigating the illegal mining connections and the exact role of the car occupants in facilitating the driver’s escape.
