Rotary Club orchestrates ‘I Love Chaibasa,’ celebratory spirit defies morning chill

Chaibasa, Dec 11: The early morning chill failed to keep citizens under blankets as they eagerly arrived in the rail station complex to be a part of the chorus to exaltedly exclaim, “I love Chaibasa!”

The occasion was to celebrate the beautification venture undertaken by the Rotary Club of Chaibasa, the completion of which was celebrated in the Chaibasa Railway Station complex. Senior advocate and Rotarian Niranjan Prasad Sao played a big hand in the ‘I Love Chaibasa’ campaign as he contributed to the beautification campaign in memory of his father, late Mathura Prasad Sao. Milling citizens were dot on time for the inauguration at 7 am when the early morning chill was shooed away by the excitement and joy prevailing at the station complex.

The completion of Rotary beautification drive was jointly inaugurated by the Chaibasa Station Superintendent Sangi Gope, Commercial Inspector Mainak Dutta, Senior General Manager of Rungta Steel TMT Bar Arvind Kumar, Rotarian Niranjan Prasad Sao, Rotary Club of Chaibasa President Ritesh Mundhra and Rotary Zone -17 Deputy Governor Anil Sharma.

A programme, ‘Fun at Railway Station’ was organized by Rungta Steel TMT Bar. An exciting range of cultural events were organized by the Rotary Club in which budding talents regaled the already excited visitors who shouted intermittently, “I Love Chaibasa.” The open platform for upcoming artistes included painting gallery, karate, yoga, dance, quick chess, darts, breakfast varieties, fun games for all ages and many more avenues for fun and excitement. Many contestants registered their names on the spot to present solo performances in dance, recitation and other items. Rotary Club members Veena Mundhra and Nirmal Tripathy regaled the audience with their lilting songs.

Amidst it all, The Rotary Club of Adityapur as a part of its CSR, organized a health checkup camp which also witnessed a large gathering.

Distinguished guests on the occasion were presented mementos by the Rotary Club.  Among the participants in the funfair were Shantanu Dance Group,  Chandana Dutta Dance Group,  MTC Dance Group,  Anurag Taekwondo  Group and Sumit Vishwakarma Yog Group also added to the joy of the occasion.

The programmes were jointly anchored by Mahila College student Shweta Sinha, Rotarian Anju Rathor and Rotarian Saurabh Prasad. The vote-of-thanks was offered by Rotarian Gurmukh Singh Khokhar who made special mentions of  Rotary and Rotaract Club members, prominent Chaibasa citizens and representatives of various organizations for providing their unstinted support to the beautification endeavor, ‘I Love Chaibasa’ and today’s celebratory function a grand success.
