District Magistrate Rajiv Ranjan chaired a crucial Education Department review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium on Wednesday. He evaluated student attendance, school infrastructure, and examination readiness.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to discharge their duties responsibly. He warned that negligence must not deprive any eligible student of education or essential government benefits.
Officials reviewed residential schools and recent inspection reports. September inspections revealed severe infrastructure defects, including damaged water pipelines, non-functional solar lights, broken roofs, and inadequate boundary walls.
Ranjan ordered immediate inter-departmental cooperation to repair these facilities. He emphasized resolving all school infrastructure issues on a priority basis across the entire district.
Student attendance registered as a primary concern during discussions. Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai recorded the lowest attendance at 65.18 percent, whereas other blocks surpassed 70 percent.
Expressing deep dissatisfaction, Ranjan ordered immediate field investigations. Block Education Officers must identify low-performing schools, consult parents, and enforce regular monitoring to raise attendance levels.
The review highlighted progress in student identification drives. Officials reported that 12,558 students received official identification cards during the previous month.
The Deputy Commissioner launched a mission-mode campaign to cover remaining students. He instructed officials to expedite bank account openings so students receive scheme benefits without delay.
Authorities instructed private schools to complete pending digital portal entries immediately. Schools must revalidate student records, update unit data, and register on the mandatory PRASHAST application.
Preparations for upcoming board examinations were reviewed under the local academic campaign. Ranjan instructed teachers to follow prescribed schedules, strengthen subject preparations, and address learning gaps.
Regarding top-tier state schools, Ranjan demanded higher teaching standards and supportive learning environments. He encouraged private institutions to engage retired teachers and utilize digital resources effectively.
Key district education officers, administrative staff, and private school representatives attended the comprehensive review meeting.
