Jamshedpur, October 11: South Eastern Railway General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra inspected the third line from Ghatsila to Tatanagar station on Wednesday.
During this time, apart from DRM Arun J Rathore, many other senior officers were present with him. Preparations had already been made at Tatanagar station for the visit of the General Manager.
The General Manager reached Tatanagar from his special salon. After this left for inspection of Tatanagar loco shed.
Anil Kumar Mishra speaking to journalists said that the work of third line is going on between Ghatsila and Adityapur. At present the work has been completed for 30 kilometers. Pre-non-interlocking/non-Interlocking work will take place after Durga Puja. It will be commissioned by the end of November.
Tatanagar and Adityapur are two important yards of Railways, work on them is also going on at a fast pace.
He expressed hope that the work of the third line will be completed by June 2024. After the construction of the third line, traffic will become easier and there will be convenience in transportation.
He said that Tatanagar station has been identified for redevelopment. Initially there were some problems regarding consultancy selection, but they have been resolved. After selecting the consultancy, the contract has been allotted to it.
By October, the scheme for the complete development of the station will be prepared and by November, the detailed project report will be submitted to the Railway Board.
Around Rs 400 to 450 crores will be spent on redevelopment. Under this, there will be facilities on both sides of the station buildings, 36 meter roof plaza, lift and accelerator facilities on every platform.
The general manager said that proposals for new trains are sent to the Railway Board and the Ministry from time to time. Keeping in mind the convenience of the people, new trains are also run. In response to a question from journalists, he directed the people living on encroachment on railway land to vacate the place so that the railway area could be developed.
