Jamshedpur: Following concerns expressed by the Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee over the plight of the Chhath ghats, the district administration has initiated inspections and remedial measures.
The committee had demanded immediate action on cleanliness, proper lighting, removal of bridge construction debris, security arrangements, and other necessary enhancements. Acting promptly, senior district officials conducted inspections on Wednesday, issued immediate directives to the concerned agencies, and commenced the necessary repair and maintenance work. Efforts have been intensified to clean the ghats, install proper lighting, and remove construction debris.
During the inspection, Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee President Ashutosh Singh urged the district administration to temporarily halt ongoing construction activities on the ghats until the festivals conclude. He emphasized that thousands of devotees gather at the ghats during the Ramnavami procession and Chhath festival, and ongoing construction work could cause inconvenience and pose safety risks.
The district administration assured the committee members that all highlighted issues would be addressed promptly to ensure the seamless conduct of Chauti Chhath and Ramnavami celebrations. The inspection was attended by Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee President Ashutosh Singh, along with Pramod Tiwari, Shiv Shankar Singh, Ramkumar Singh, Santosh Kalindi, Manish Kumar, Bipin Jha, Vinay Kumar, and other committee members.
