Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajiv Ranjan cracked down on administrative lapses, mandating a proactive, citizen-centric approach across the district. During a virtual review meeting at the Collectorate with senior officials, the DC established new protocols for field inspections and welfare scheme implementation.
Mandatory Field Presence and Institutional Checks
The DC has introduced strict requirements for on-ground oversight to ensure officials are connected to local issues:
- Bi-Weekly Visits: Block Development Officers (BDOs), Circle Officers (COs), and municipal officials must conduct field visits at least twice a week.
- Direct Interaction: Officials are required to speak directly with residents to hear grievances and inspect essential facilities, including schools, Anganwadi centers, and health sub-centers.
- Healthcare Verification: Inspections must include verifying the attendance of medical staff against registers and gathering patient feedback on available amenities.
- Nutrition Monitoring: During visits to Anganwadi centers, officials are tasked with assessing the actual distribution of nutritional supplements.
Service Monitoring and Infrastructure Targets
Accountability measures have been extended to power supply and rural employment:
- Daily Electricity Reports: A daily report detailing power availability for the previous 24 hours must be submitted by 9:00 PM.
- Disruption Alerts: Any power outages lasting more than three hours in villages or hamlets must be specifically documented.
- MGNREGA Targets: The DC directed that every village must initiate at least one new scheme within a week, scaling up to five schemes within 15 days.
- Waste Management: Urban local bodies were ordered to maintain strict compliance with Supreme Court guidelines regarding solid waste management.
Administrative Reforms and Land Management
The Deputy Commissioner warned that surprise inspections will be conducted to verify these directives, and any negligence will result in strict disciplinary action.
