Rape accused Jamshedpur police inspector gets bail

Jamshedpur, Sep 28: The rape accused, Sub-Inspector Ravi Ranjan of Birsanagar police station in Jamshedpur was granted anticipatory bail by Jharkhand High Court Judge Anil Kumar Chaudhary. 

Advocates Ravi Prakash Mishra and Deepak Kumar Dubey appeared on behalf of the accused during the hearing on the anticipatory bail application in the court. Earlier, the anticipatory bail application of the accused was rejected by the Jamshedpur Court.

The inspector hails from Samastipur district of Bihar. In July, a woman from Bahragora lodged an FIR in the Sakchi Mahila thana, making many serious allegations against him, including sexual abuse on the pretext of marriage, and abortion while pregnant.The SSP had suspended the inspector due to serious allegations. The accused inspector was absconding after the incident.
