Jamshedpur, June 24: Under the aegis of Tribal Gond Kalyan Samiti of Jamshedpur, a program was organized on the occasion of Rani Durgavati’s Martyrdom Day at CP Club in Bagunhatu.
Addressing the people, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto observed, “Rani Durgavati remains a legend and a legend’s deeds can never be obliterated. The sacrifices she made for the liberation of India during the Mughal era and her martyrdom remains legendary. She was the torch bearer during her fight for India’s honour and her other deeds to arouse the flame of independence among Indians was exemplary. These glorious deeds of Rani Durgavati will remain etched in the memory of Indians forever.”
An ideal marriage was organized by the Adivasi Gond Kalyan Samiti on the occasion. MP Bidyut Baran Mahto congratulated and blessed the newly wedded couple. Sudhirlal, Dhaneshwar Singh, district president of ST Morcha and Veena Nand Shirka were among others, present mainly on the occasion.
