Rajiv Nair Cricket Academy inaugurated in Jamshedpur’s Mango

Shaheed Nirmal Mahato memorial cricket trophy winners honored

 

Jamshedpur, March 31: The inaugural ceremony of the ‘Rajiv Nair Cricket Academy’ took place on Sankosai Road No. 5 in Mango. The event coincided with the felicitation of the victorious team of the Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Memorial Cricket Trophy, organized by the Mango Welfare Association.

Captain Ritir Raj of Mango XI, the triumphant team of the tournament, was bestowed with the prestigious trophy by chief guest Dr Afroz Shakeel. Meanwhile, the runner-up team’s captain, Vishal Gorai of Potka, received the trophy from special guest Tahir Hussain. Praveen Patel was also honored with a trophy for being recognized as the best player of the tournament.

The Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Memorial Cricket Trophy witnessed a competitive spirit across 50 matches spanning nearly three months.

During the ceremony, chief guest Dr Afroz Shakeel emphasized the pivotal role of sports in shaping the youth’s character and aspirations. He underscored the importance of sports in fulfilling the objectives set forth by Nirmal Mahato.

Furthermore, the inauguration of the Rajiv Nair Cricket Academy, named after the renowned leg spinner and esteemed cricket coach of Jharkhand, Rajiv Nair, marked a significant milestone for cricket development in the Mango area. Dr. Afroz Shakeel highlighted the academy’s role in fostering young talent and promoting sports culture in the region.

The event witnessed the presence of notable personalities such as Md Rashid, Bajrangi, Sarabjit Kushwaha and others.
