Hata Bus Stand Complex to Feature Restaurant and Banquet Hall

Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar has ordered a major overhaul of the under-construction Bus Stand-cum-Market Complex at Hata Birsa Chowk in Potka. Following the legislator’s observations regarding structural shortcomings, the administration and the concerned department have initiated consultations with the project’s consultancy agency to revise the blueprint and enhance the facility’s utility.

Officials stated that the MLA primarily recommended ensuring optimal use of the complex’s upper floor. In response, authorities are now designing a proposal to develop a modern restaurant and banquet hall on the top level. The revised plan also includes an additional washroom and a dedicated kitchen area to provide greater convenience to commuters, residents, and traders.

Transforming the Transport Hub

These proposed additions will transform the complex from a simple transport hub into a multi-functional public utility centre. Besides improving passenger amenities, the banquet facility will offer a much-needed venue for social and family gatherings in the region while generating new opportunities for local employment and business activity.

MLA Sanjib Sardar emphasized that Hata Birsa Chowk serves as a key transit point for thousands of daily commuters. He stressed that the infrastructure must evolve beyond a conventional bus stand into a modern civic facility that caters to multiple community needs.

Strict Quality Control Ordered

The MLA issued clear instructions to departmental officials and the contractor to maintain strict quality standards throughout the construction process. Emphasizing that he will tolerate no compromise on workmanship, he directed teams to rectify all technical flaws without delay and complete the project within the stipulated timeline.

Administrative officials have assured that they will prioritize and incorporate the MLA’s recommendations into the revised design to develop the Hata Bus Stand-cum-Market Complex into a model public infrastructure project for the region.
