Congress Burns PM’s Effigy in Bistupur

Jamshedpur: Following a call from the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee staged a protest at Bistupur Signal Chowk on Saturday. Demonstrators burned an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to protest skyrocketing inflation and fuel prices.

District Congress President Parvinder Singh chaired the protest. Senior party leaders, including Satish Paul Munjani (Organization In-charge for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency) and former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, attended as chief guests. A large number of district office-bearers, block leaders, and party workers also joined the demonstration.

Addressing the gathering, leaders alleged that the Central Government continuously burdens the common people by repeatedly hiking petrol, diesel, and cooking gas prices. They claimed that rising fuel costs severely impact the economic condition of ordinary citizens and disrupt household budgets.

District Congress President Parvinder Singh further stated that the Central Government’s foreign policy has failed to deliver results. Working President Awadhesh Singh accused the ruling party of neglecting public welfare and enforcing policies that harm citizens.

General Secretary Atul Gupta criticized recent government appeals regarding gold purchases, warning that such measures will adversely affect traders and destroy jobs in the jewellery sector.

The leaders demanded immediate intervention to control inflation and provide relief to the public, warning that the party will escalate its agitation if the government fails to check rising prices.
