Protest begins against Rs 100 parking fee at Mango Bus Stand

Footpath vendors, cart owners to meet DC today

Jamshedpur: The cart owners, footpath vendors and auto drivers carrying on their businesses inside and outside the Mango bus stand in Bhuiyandih are being made to pay Rs 100 every day to the parking agency staff. Bike owners are also been forced to pay parking charge. Protest against the same has started. On Friday, auto drivers, rickshaw pullers and cart owners protested before the Mango Bus Stand demanding to scrap parking fee by the contractor and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC).

The protest was headed by Yuva Congress state secretary Rakesh Sahu. JMM leader Tarkeshwar Tiwaru Goldy joined the protest. They have planned to submit a memorandum to DC against the same demand on Saturday, July 28 morning and would urged DC Amit Kumar to scrap Rs 100 parking charge at the earliest so that poor who are autodrivers or rickshaw pullers don�t suffer.

The protestors said that the footpath vendors are being extorted in the name of parking fee by the staff of the parking agency on a daily basis. They further said that the parking staffs were not allowing the vendors to do business without paying the said amount. Present o the occasio were Sanjay Pandey, Amit Pandey, Bablu Naushad, Manju Das and others.
