Premier Division football: Classic Eight, Gramin FA share points

Jamshedpur, June 20: Classic Eight and Gramin Football Academy played out a 1-1 draw in a closely fought Premier Division match at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Gramin Football Academy took the lead in the 27th minute through Jaleswar Murmu. Classic Eight responded strongly after the break, with Gourav Mukhi scoring the equaliser in the 62nd minute. Both teams created several chances in search of a winning goal, but neither side could find the breakthrough. The match ended with both teams sharing a point each.

Manbhum FC storm back to thrash Thakkar Bappa Club 6-3

Jamshedpur, June 20: Manbhum FC produced a sensational comeback to defeat Thakkar Bappa Club 6-3 in a thrilling Super Division encounter. Thakkar Bappa Club made a strong start, taking the lead in the 9th minute through Abhishekh Mukhi. Manbhum FC fought back as Salkhan Murmu equalised before Gurupado Hembram put his side ahead in the 40th minute.

However, Thakkar Bappa Club regained control when MD Danish scored twice—once in first-half stoppage time and again soon after the break—to give his team a 3-2 lead. Manbhum FC then turned the match around with an impressive attacking display. Sukram Mardi levelled the scores in the 68th minute before Salkhan Murmu completed a brilliant hat-trick with goals in the 76th and 81st minutes. Budheshwar Singh Munda added another goal in stoppage time to seal a memorable 6-3 victory for Manbhum FC.

Smile Club edge past SKFA 2-1

Jamshedpur, June 20: Smile Club registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sidhu Kanhu Festival Association (SKFA) in an A Division Group A match at Tinplate Ground. Sonaram Murmu gave Smile Club the lead in first-half stoppage time. However, SKFA hit back quickly as Sunil Murmu scored the equaliser before the break. Soon after the restart, Samir Sundi netted the winning goal in the 47th minute, helping Smile Club secure all three points.

Ambedkar FC, ARGC share points in 1-1 draw

Jamshedpur, June 20: Ambedkar FC and Adivasi Ritui Gondai Club (ARGC) played out a 1-1 draw in their A Division Group B match at Armoury Ground. ARGC took the lead in the 27th minute through Dev Mukhi. Ambedkar FC responded just before half-time when Ram Hansda scored the equaliser. Both teams pushed for a winner in the second half, but neither could break the deadlock, and the match ended with both sides sharing a point.
